WATCH CONGRESS.

The Republicans lost a very largo number of congressman in the late election, but they will still have a majority. Joe Cannon has been re-elected and doubtless will again be chosen speaker. Cannon is the drum-major of the standpat brigade. He is against a revision of the tariff. He is a friend of the trusts. He has stood firmly for every special interest that has demanded and received a favor from congress. Some of his tools, like Jim Watson and Charles B. Landis of this state, have been re-elected by a scratch. Now just keep your eyes on congress and see how much legislalation will be done for the people. But your eyes will ache before you see anything that will hurt the trusts and the army of mercenaries who will flock down to Washington as usual for the legislative loot that they never fail to receive from a republican congress.
