STAND PAT, BRO., STAND PAT.

The Lake County News, the republican organ of Lake county, is grumbling about high prices, and says all building material and lumber is still advancing in price, so that by and by a SBOO cottage will probably cost $25,000. It adds: “It is not to be wondered at that lumber goes up in price, as each year there is less of it, but why stone, sand, cement and lime shall advance with every new moon is hard to explain. The same can be said of nearly everything in the eatable line. The United States is full of ‘grub’ but it’s hard work to get it now.”
