METHODISTS TO EVANGELIZE

Governor Hanly Presides at a Mass Meeting at Chicago—Board of Bisbops Meets. Chicago, May 4. —The session of the semi-annual meeting of the board ot bishops of the Methodist Episcopal church was held behind closed doors, and until the exception of a report by Bishop Isaiah B. Scott, of Monrovia, Africa, none of the proceedings was made public. At the conclusion of the session the bishoi>s attended a banquet given by the Chicago Methodist Social Union and "a mass meeting at the Auditorium. Governor Hanly, of Indiana, presided, and made the opening address at the mass meeting. “Evangelization” was the keynote of all the speeches by the different dignitaries. Every mention of the word brought out enthusiastic cheers and had dapping, and at tlio close of the rally plans had been formulated whereby permanent evangelists will be provided for Chicago.
