Dowie Can Scare Up but 300 Faithful—Hi* Health Greatly Improves. Chicago, May 4.—John Alexander Dowie la making little, if any, progress In regaining a foothold nmong his former followers In Zion City. The “first apostle” has been In Zion City for live days and has held three meetings in Shiloh Tabernacle, but the “faithful” are still following their new leader Voliva, and do not respond to Dowie’s calls. Dowie’s third meeting was held in the Tabernacle last night Less than 300 Zionists attended the meeting, the remainder of the inhabitants of the oity keeping away from the Tabernacle in ol»edience to the wishes of Vollva. Mrs. Dowie was on me platform with her husband and addressed the meeting, Dowie’s health seems to bo Improving. He walked about the platform while addressing the meeting and seemed to be steadily gaining strength.
