New York, Jan. 11.—The hearing before a commissioner In the quo warranto proceedings brought by Attorney General Herbert S. Hadley, of Missouri, to oust three oil companies from that state lias been halted to allow Hadley and his counsel and counsel for the Shuidurd Oil company to appear in the supreme court and rnnke an argument on the order issued by thnt court to H. H. Rogers Instructing him to show cause why he shall not answer the questions asked him by Hadley. When the order to ahow cause was taken up before Justice Olldersleeve, William V. Rowe and Frank Hagertnan, counsel for the Standard Oil company, asked that the hearing be put over until tomorrow morning. Justice Gllderßleeve granted the motion, and also ordered that all proceed I ngs before Commissioner Sanborn be stopped until after argument before the supreme court.
