ANOTHER JASPER COUNTY BOY TO THE FRONT.
At the recent election in Ohio, C. F. Smith, son of Mr. Joseph Smith of Kniman, was elected city solicitor of Salem, Ohio, on the democratic ticket by over 250 majority. Salem is a city of about 10,000 population, and the honor conferred on Mr. Smith is an enviable one. The young man was born near Seafield, in White county, and came to this county with his parents, when a small boy. While but a farmer boy, his parents sent him to school and gave him a good education and be graduated from the Brazil high school and the Indiana Law school. He has been at Salem only a few years and is now only about 25 years of age. He apparehtly has a bright future before him. The Democrat is always glad to note the success of Jasper county boys, and especially one that has not had the advantages that usually come to the boys in town.
