Washington, Nov. 3.—The statement of the postottice department relative to rural free delivery for October places the total number of routes In the country at 33.948, an Increase of 1,893 since Jnly 1. Illinois leads the list with a total of 2,008 routes. North Dakota has 2,392; lowa, 2,184, and Indiana 2,(M3. There are 4,335 applications pending.
