ANOTHER MOVE OF PACKERS

They Attack the Government Suit from Some New Strategic Points and Technicalities. Chicago, Oct. 24. —Indicted packers have again attacked the famous so called “beef trust” process, declaring that testimony they were compelled to produce before the secretary of commerce and labor was used by District Attorney C. B. Morrison in obtaining indictments against them and their agents, and alleging that the same issues as mentioned in the first, third, fifth, seventh and ninth counts of the indictment were raised and disposed of In the injunction writ issued by Judge Peter 8. Grosscup. The packers further allege that Thomas I. Porter, acting under the direction of the district attorney, searched with “force and arms” the office of the Aetna Trading company and the Oppenheimer Manufacturing company and secured their papers and effects. They declared also that the district attorney used the information so gained as evidence against them.
