DESCRIPTION.
Whsels-They are built with thoroughly seasoned white oak hubs that are very large, allowing a very large spoke tenon which adds greatly to the life of a wheel. The spokes are selected from second growth white oak, being thoroughly dry and straight grain. The hubs are also capped to prevent sand and dust from getting into the skein. Gear— The axles, which are quite as vital a part as the wheels, are carefully selected from well seasoned second growth, shell bark hickory. The hounds, bolsters, pole and sand boards are thoroughly seasoned, straight - ■ - - -i
grain, tough white oak. The reaches straight grain second growth white oak, heavily ironed. In the construction of the front gear Pillow blocks are used between axles and sand boards, thus forming a truss of the whole gear. Bed— Made from strictly clear poplar, with bottom made from three-inch strips straight grain Norway pine. Painting— Only pure leads and oils and a high grade of varnish are used on these wagons.
