THE STONE ROAD SYSTEM

Can only be secured by successive steps, each to be taken after notice: 1. The petition will be published and must be endorsed by tbe board of commissioners at the August term, 1905. 2 The road work must be planned and estimated by viewers, which will carry tbe matter over until tbe September term, 1905. 3. Tbe viewers must bear and report on damages at the October term, 1905. 4. The election day can be fixed some day in October, 1905, if there is no delay from litigation. 5. If the election carries, tbe work can be let early in November, 1905. It will take four months to prepare and let the work and require three notices to be given. The system was made feasible by the establishment of “tbe Iroquois ditch.” It cannot be ready for construction and use of the stone before November 1, 1905. **
