JACKSON COUNTY WEATHER.

Letter From Wm. R. Dennis, a Former Resident of Jasper. Crothersville, Ind., Feb. 28. Editor Babcock: —In our last week’s Jasper County Democrat we saw an item taken from The Seymour Demoorat, saying that Martha Vaxter of near Crothprsville, froze to death. Mrs. Vaxter died of cardial hemoraoe and not of cold. In fact, Mr, Editor, we don’t freeze to death down here or even get very cold in comparison to what it has been in Jasper county. The government report, taken here every day, says not more than 8 below zero as yet, and while our Jasper friends have been enjoying the pleasures of sleighing, we have had a few little flurries of snow, just enough to make the woods and fields a little white —no prospect of a sleigh ride. Have only had three or four stormy days since we came, the last of September last year. The last few days are like spring and we can easily work out of doors without coats, and if the present weather continues we will begin spring work before long. The climate certainly agrees with us as we are in better health than we have enjoyed for years. Hoping the warm weather has reached you and you are having it as pleasant there as we are here, I remain, yours truly, Wm. R. Dennis.
