Chicago, Feb. 8. —Declaring Victor R. O’Shea to he a victim of the morphine and cigarette habits, Judge MeEwen refused to admit the young wife murderer to hail pending the hearing of his motion for a new* trial. “It is known to me,” said Judge McEwen, “that O’Shea uses morphine and cigarettes. Anyone who uses drugs is liable to become irresponsible at any time, and it Is advisable that he be In custody when under severe mental strain. Bail is refused. *
