TARIFF REVISION CANVASS
Men From the West Getting Up a ListHow It Stands Among New England Members. Washington, Jan. 13. —The following statement in opposition to tariff revision is being signed by members of the house from the Rocky mountain and Pacific coast states: “The undersigned members of the house of rejF resentatives representing the states set opposite our respective names are not in fa\ r or of calling an extra session of the Fifty-ninth congress for the purpose of revising the tariff, and we believe that the agitation of this question at this time is neither necessary nor desirable.” So far seven representatives have signed the document. Representative Hill, of Connecticut, has taken a poll of the Republican members of the house from New England as to whether they ° were for any consideration of the tariff question before 190 b, and sixteen answered “Yes,” and five “No,” while three were absent.
