Items of Interest Gathered In the Offices of the County Capitol. Proseouting Attorney Groves has appointed Mose Leopold as his deputy for Rensselaer. —o — The first election under the present law to elect road supervisors will be held in the various road districts of each township to-day. —o Marriage licenses issued: Jan. 9, Charles Reeves to Maude Apger. Jan. 10. E. Vernen Pratt to Della Russell. —o— During the trial of a divorce case in the Circuit Court at Lafayette and while making the final entry, Judge DeHart refused to restore the maiden name of the plaintiff, claiming that this required separate proceedings. Heretofore courts throughout the State have granted similar requests without question. —o — New suits filed: No. 6772. David K. Fry, as trustee of Jesse J. Frye, vs. Francis M. Goff et al; action for forecloseure of mortgage. No. 6773. Sigimund Sorg vs. David T. Lockwood et al; action to quiet title. No. 6774. Thomas H. Barber vs. Ella M. Stoudt et al, action to foreclose mechanic’s lein. No. 6775. Isaac Kight vs. Levi Davis et al; action to quiet title. No. 6776. Daniel Wolf vs. Thomas Clark et al; action to quiet title. —o — Representative Jesse E. Wilson has introduced two bills thus far, number 43 is to regulate the operation of automobiles and provide for the licensing of chauffies. Number 44 is to amend the law concerning the incorporation of private concerns. Senator McCain of Kentland has introduced a bill defining the duties of the State Board of Health and providing for increasing the salary of the Secretary to 13,000 a year and allowing the members $lO a day and expenses for time actually employed. The board is also authorized to regulate the plumbing and drainage of public buildings.
