NO FATALITIES, BUT

The 4th passed without any fatalities in Jasper county although a few boys in Rensselaer met with minor accidents. Am6ng these were John Healy’s little son Paul, who got his face and one eye quite badly burned from a firecracker; the little son of Isaac Reubelt.a hand burned, and a son of Henry Hildebrand a finger injured from a toy pistol. About 10:30 at night someone set fire to the old laundry building down by the river, and the fire alarm was sounded, causing considerable excitement nntil it was found out where the fire was. The building had been condemned and ordered torn down, therefore it was allowed to burn.
