A GALA DAY IN RENSSELAER
Corner Stone of Public Library Will be Laid Next Wednesday With ApJ propriate Ceremonies. ’ Next Wednesday, July 13, is the date set for laying the corner stone of Rensselaer’s new library building, and the various committees appointed for the preliminary work are hustling like beavers to make it a day long to be remembered. The corner stone will be laid by state Grand Master F. <fc A. M.. George E. Grimes of Ladoga, and the ceremonies will be in charge of Prairie Lodge No. 125 F. & A. M., of Rensselaer.X. All the lodges and fraternal orders of Rensselaer as well as lodges from surrounding towns have been invited to come out to the exercises, and it is expected that a very large crowd will be in town that day. Arrangements are being perfected to have four or five bands of music here, in addition to our own Military band, and the parade of the various orders and lodges at 1:30 o’clock in the afternoon, immediately before the exercises of laying the corner stone, will be a pleasing feature of the day. A base ball game between Morion and Rensselaer nines will be a free forenoon attraction at Riverside Ball Park, and other sports and amusements will probably be provided to fill in the day, while at night an address by Hon. C. B. Landis, of Delphi, appropriate to the ocoasion, and a grand free band concert, participated in by all the visiting bands, will furnish an evening^of pleas ng entertainment. a Take a day off and come to Rensselaer next Wednesday.
