Indianapolis, June 24.—An Interesting story was told in the coroner’s office by Patrolman C. E. Couk In conhection with the death of Dr. Lowden by bis own band Tuesday evening. There baa been some question as to the kind of poison taken by the phyaiciun. Several months ago, Couk said, Lowden was called to attend a man who had attempted to end bis life with carbolic acid. There was some discussion then concerning the terrible pain accompanying death by this means, and Dr. Lowden remarked: “When my time comes to commit suicide, I’ve got the stuff. It’s quick and it’s painless.” , An R«n CteaM Into HU Garden. Dr. Lowden waa one of the bestknown physicians In North Indianapolis, and killed himself by taking poison, after hit infidelity to his wife had been exposed. Dr. Lowden enjoyed a large and lucrative practice until übout ten months ago, when he met Miss Luella Holland, who live* with her aunt, near the physician's office, at Udell and Cliftbn streets. After that time he disregarded the warnings of his friends and lodge warnings of his friends, and entreaties oFhis family. Attacked by Wife and Daughter. Miss Holland was seated in Dr. Lowden’s office when Mrs. Lowden and Miss Nellie-, u daughter of the physician, entered the evening of the suicide. There had been family differences because of tbe woman and when the wife and daughter walked In they became enraged. Both started for her and she fled from the office. The chase extended .to Twenty-seventh street, more than two blocks away, where Miss Holland was overtaken ana seized. Her screams attracted tbe attention of a man, wbo advised Mrs. I.owden to avoid a street scene. They heeded the counsel and returned to their home at I<>ls West. Thirtieth street. While his wife and daughter were chasing his mistress the doctor killed himself.
