“THE MISSOURI GIRL.”
Far and Away the Best of Rural Plays Pleases Sedalla. Fred Raymond’s company came to Wood’s Monday night with “The Missouri Girl.” As this paper has intimated on former occasions, the people of Sedalia seem to have a “hunch” just at the right time, and they must have had It yesterday, for the house was filled from gallery A to the orchestra chairs. And “The Missouri Girl” was in the full flush of her native beauty, rugged of form and ruddy of cheek. The company supporting her was as nearly perfect as could be. and the result was everybody in the house was pleased, for they knew that they were breaking a Sedalia record in the matter of the size of the audience. One thing the company didn’t know was that there were two other attractions in the city, Rev. Crayton Brooks, the man who started the Missouri boodle cry, and a charity ball, patronized by the leading people of the city. “The Missouri Girl” as probuced by the Fred Raymond company is clean and bright. Every scene sparkles with the -originality of the Missouri countryman, and every scene is full of memories for the most of us who have at some time or another known a taste of Missouri farm life. Under the efficient management of Harry Hopping the Western Missouri Girl is one to be proud of. —Sedalia (Mo.) Citizen. “The Missouri Girl” will appear at Ellis opera house next Tuesday evening, March 1.
