Alabama iron producers have made big shipments to Europe, where better prices are obtained. Bamnel Davis, a negro, was arrested at Philadelphia, charged with tearing out a horse’s tongue. Judge Cleaveland, at Naw Haven, Conn., declined to appoint a Christian Scientist guardian of the 8-year-old daughter of Isaac W. Stiles because the man suggested said he would rely on Christian Science should the child have diphtheria.
