Twenty tickets were sold to Lafayette yesterday for Ringling’s olrons. » We understand that August Rosenbaum claims that he has leased his saloon to his bartender pending his appeal for license to the circuit court, and it will be run as a “soft drink’’ establishment. Mr. Hildebrand, we are told, has closed his saloon up tight pending his appeal. In a letter to a friend here, Joe Meehan of Remington, who is traveling with the Frank James and Cole Younger Wild West show, as trap drummer, says the company is now in Virginia, and will be at Newport News to-day and to-morrow. Dick Rawlings who was also with the show, has returned to Remington.

Fourth Of July At Monticello. It has been arranged to have a race meet at the fair grounds just west of town on Saturday, July 4th. A band concert will be given both morning and evening, at the band stand in town. The races will be in the afternoon. Free for all trot and pace, and 2:20 trot and pace, and 3.00 trot and pace. Also a ladies’ race, county entries only, with a gold watch and chain premium. The races will be five to enter, three to go, best three in five.
