JENNINGS COUNTY LETTER. North Vernon, Ind., June io, 1903. Kind Friends: As I promised so many of you I would write when I got moved to our new home and have not time to write so many letters, I thought the best way to reach you all was through The Democrat. Now I know you will want to know how we like the country and our new home. I would have to say, just fine; we are all well and satisfied with our new home. Our wheat looks fine and is getting ripe. Oats look very nice and corn is growing fast, and we never had our garden to grow better then it does down here; and talk about hay and pasture, il you want to see good clover and timothy and good pasture, just come down. Well, I.know you will want to know how many young chickens I have got, T have about 350 young chickens, some eggs setting; 46 young turkeys and more eggs setting. Ethel has two young geese. Ethel goes to North Vernon every Saturday to take 'music lessons. We have lots of fruit, such as apples, plums, pears, grapes, rasberries and blackberries, but no peaches. They got killed. I will close, v hoping this letter will reach all of my friends and will say if anv of you come down to see the country, be sure to come and see us. I will feed you on fried chicken and angel food.
