A Unique Bridge.

One of tho/ most curious bridges ever built, perhaps qnlque In the history of the world, was that made by the British troops in 1800. They were marching on Pekin, but found their progress barred by a flooded river of considerable width and depth. A timber party was formed, but found nothing to cut down or borrow suitable for a bridge. At last a huge store of coffins was discovered In the village and with these the soldiers built their bridge and crossed alive over the receptacles for the dead.
