Jasper County Democrat, Volume 6, Number 2, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 18 April 1903 — A CORRECTION. [ARTICLE]
A CORRECTION.
Through an error the types made us say last week that Abe, “Honest Abe,” had something over $20,000 in judgments hanging over him. What it should have read was that there were upwards of 20 unsatisfied judgments hanging over him—we have never taken the trouble to add up their total. These judgments are a matter of public record on the circuit court judgment dockets, in the county clerk’s office, and a hundred libel suits oannot efface them. They can be paid and satisfied, bat libel suits will not do this. A man who has no credit or financial reputation whatever will hardly be able to gain a good financial standing by rushing into the courts through the. State of Indiana to defebd something that has no existence, either in fact or fancy.
