Our friend, William Wilmington, who saw military service in the Philippines, has been granted a pension of $6 per month and $125 back pay. We wish to congratulate Supervisor Wilmington upon his good luck. He took part in some of the 4 principal engagements in the islands. If any man in this county
(upon the basis of his services) deserve a pension, Bill is that one. We offer this explanation in the spirit of justice to Mr. Fisher: The Republican in Its last week’s issue was correct in part, in its statement of the facts in the case of the State vs. Bryant. It was true, that Mr. Fisher did not want to prosecute the case, but the statement that Mr. Bryant paid for the wheels was not true, neither was the statement that the machine was old and discarded a fadt. The machine was then and is now a good one. The cost to Bt. Bryant was the cost that originated frofn an action that Mr, Fisher commenced before Esq. Swisher for damages and recovery of propeijy which trial Mr. Bryant failed to attend and judgment was entered against him by faultWe have a complete line of the W B corsets. Best made.
