THE COMMON COUNCIL.
The city council met in regular session Monday evening with all members present. The renewal of the insurance on the city plant was authorized. The arbitration committee in the Ellis Walton matter made its report, which was accepted. The committee consisted of Ad Parkinson, I. N. Hemphill and T. H. Robinson. Mr. Walton was awarded SSO damages by a majority vote of the committee. Mr. Parkinson made a minority report recommending that §25 damages be awarded. The council voted its thanks to Mr. Parkiaon for looking after the city’s interests. The contract and bond of Hiram Day for the Milroy street sidewalk was approved; as was that ofW. F. Smith for the improvement of Clark street. The ordinance for the Makemself sewer was passed. Bids for the work will be opened December 29th. The sewer committee made its report on the Clark street sewer, which was approved. The city is to pay sl2 of the cost of the sewer and E. G. Warren the balance. ROAD FUND.
