Philadelphia, Oct. 20.—0 r. Daniel E. Hughes, chief resident physician of the Philadelphia almshouse, died at 8 o’clock lu the morning of tubercular peritonitis, the germs of which disease he Is believed to have contracted from a patient In the hospital.
