HARTLEY ELEVATOR BURNED.
Goodland Elevator and 300,000 Bushels of Grain Go Up In Smoke. 'Fire, supposed to have started in the engine room, totally destroyed the big new Hartley grain elevator at Goodland last Friday night. The fire was discovered about 2 a. m,, Saturday morning, and while the origin is unknown, it is supposed to have started in in some way from the engine room. The elevator was built new about two years ago and was one of the largest in this section of the state. It had a capacity of 375,000 bushels of grain, with an oats clipper, bleacher, and other modern inprovements.'i.There was an insurance of $25,00 on the elevator and also insurance on the 300,000 bushels of grain that was burned with it, thus practically covering about all the loss. It will be rebuilt at once, it is announced.
