To Rival Morgan’s Combine.

A British shipping combination, a rival to that recently engineered by J. Pierpont Morgan, has been formed with a capitalization of $ 100,000,000. It is intended to compete with Morgan for North Atlantic and Pacific freight and passenger business. One of the ideas of the scheme is the utilization of the Canadian Pacific Railway as the chief link in a chain bringing Australasia, India, China and Japan into nearer and more intimate touch with England, and providing an allBritish route shorter than any at present available.
