BUILDING NOTES.

The old canning factory at Demotte is being remodeled into a pickle packing factory. The contract for laying the foundations for the new K. of P. block has been let to Norman Bros. KWork of laying the foundation for St. Augustine’s parochial school building began yesterday. 'kßrick work on the new Odd Fellows annex has been delayed on account of delay in receiving the steel work, which did not arrive until Thursday. jThe frame is up and enclosed for Babcock & Hopkins’ new elevator office, and a great deal of dirt taken from the K. of P. block excavation has been hauled in to fill up for the drive-way. 't'The excavating for the K. of P. block is about two-thirds done. This work and the numerous new cement side walks being put in about the city has furnished a great deal of work lately for men and teams. The work of repairing the damage done by fire last week to the Stoner & Da)* mill is being pushed along as rapidly as possible. The mill is being thoroughly overhauled and it is expected to have it in running order within the next two weeks.
