FROM MARSHAL COUNTY.

Plymouth, Ind., April, 23, Mr. Editor: I thought I would write a few lines, thinking perhaps you might want to hear from us. We are located on East Laporte St. We are doing fairly well and are very well pleased with the city. This city is located 24 miles south of South Bend and 84 miles east of Chicago. The popu lation is above 4,000. There are some very good buildings here and I believe this is a greater place for people to cotne to town on Saturday than Rensselaer. There was a pretty big fire here yesterday afternoon. The electric light plant, two blacksmith shops, one barn and ice house burned to the ground Some dozen dwelling houses caught fire but by heroic work of the fire department and also the citizens the fire was got under control. TliQ-fire is supposed to have started from a passing locomotive on the Ft. Wayne R. R. They are doing lots of work on the Ft. Wayne road this summer. On last Monday there was a young man using dynamite for blasting on the road when a stick of the explosive he was holding in his band was discharged, blowing him about 30 feet high, and killing him instantly. Well, I will close for this time. If you think this worth publishing all right. If not, consign it to the waste basket.
