WHAT A FRIEND IS.
Some one has asked the question of an exchange, “What is a friend?” and the answer is given as follows: —“It is a fellow who will inconvenience himself for you. It is the man who will sit by your bedside when your frame has been touched by disease. It is the man that will come to you when the clouds are black; when the muttering thunders of misfortune growl along the sky. It is the man who will say: “Don’t be discouraged; I see you are in trouble, let me help you out.” It is not the man who will do a kindness only when he feels he will get back full value for service rendered. Remember that all who write their names in fancy script in your friendship album are not your friends.”
