Dr. Edward L. Clark has resigned the pastorate of Central Congregational Church, Boston. First Presbyterian Church of Steuben ville, Ohio, recently celebrated its centennial anniversary. The Salvation army reports 7,000 associations in forty-seven countries, with an effective force of 47,000 officers. The Rev. E. E. Edwards, Ph. !>., has been appointed rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Greencastle, Ind. It is stated upon good authority that there are now 2,000 active Mormou proselyters scattered widely over the world. St. Malachy's Roman Catholic Church, Rantoul, 111., was dedicated by the Right Rev. John L. Spalding, Bishop of Peoria, assisted by many of the high ecclesiastical dignitaries and priests of the church. The new church was built at a cost, of 5.000. Dr. Jnmes R. Pentuff hns resigned as dean ot the Burlington Institute, the oldest Baptist school in lowa. -The ituttitutlon is now in Its semi-centeunial year. Since I)r. Pentuff’s connection with it the school has been doing academic work in connection with the University of Chicago.
