Oil has been found at Millersburg. Elwood is after a $50,000 iron bedstead factory. The Hercules sawmill. Center, burned. Loss $5,000. George Carr, Gnstou, was badly burned by a gas explosion. Henry Baker's residence, Aurora, was damaged SSOO by fire. Clinton E. Etchison, Elwood, wtiose hand was crushed in a punching machine at the Diamond foundry, has sued the company for $25,000 damages. Daniel Watts, a saloonkeeper at Ehrtnandale, amused himself for an hour by making a miner named Tipton sit in a chair by occasionally rubbing the mussle of a revolver over his face. When Tipton was permitted to go away he went in a hurry for a shotgun, and, returning, shot at Watts through a window. The window glass deflected some of the shot, and perhaps saved Wats' life, but he lost one eye and some shot are in his head.
