CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS.

The U. 8. Civil Service Commission will hold examination at several places in each state during March and April, to secure young men and women for the government service. 9889 persons secured positions last year through these examinations. Probably 10,000 appointments will be made this year. Ail appointments are for life and for most positions only a common school education is required. Salaries at appointment vary from $660 to $1,200 a year with liberal promotions afterward. Politics is not considered. This affords a good opportunity for people between 16 and 45 years of age.
