Thurston, of Omaha, Nebraska, is one of the most prominent and influential men in the country. He made the speech nominating Prealdent McKinley at the St. Louis convention, and was made permanent Chairmaß of this convention. He was also made Chairman of the convention that re-nomi-nated President McKinley at Philadelphia. He was recently appointed by President McKinley Chairman of the St. Louis Exposition Commission.
