B. F. Funk went to Bloomington, Ind., on business. Harry Laughlin left these regions Saturday for Nappanee. Elva East spent Sunday with Elsie Lewis, south of town. Mrs. Mary Stewart of Brookston, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Colvin. Mrs. Simon Fendig returned home Monday evening from a few days stay «t Rensselaer. 1 Tom Hurley of New Hampshire, Ohio, visited his cousin, Mrs. John Keith, the last of the week. Henry Gilbranson moved into the property recently vacated by Ed Sideler, 1 he first of the week. Mrs. Wallace of Stoutsberg, spent Tuesday with her son, George, and daughter, Mrs. Lebarge. Mrs. Minnie Myers of Kankakee, visited her sisters, Mrs. E. T. Biggs and Mrs. Wm. McNeil, over Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Robertson and son, Kenneth, visited the former's father at Hebron a few days this week. Tom Jensen has been quite sick for about a week with lung fever, but at this writing is recovering slowly, Mrs. Mary Clark, who has been visiting her daughter at Indianapolis for a fortnight, returned home Monday. Fid Allen has moved into the rooms over Barlow’s hardware store. He intends drilling for oil on the Poweis land. Willie Gieve, a young lawyer, in a town near Chicago, is spending a few days with his father, John Greve, and family. Rhillip Blue, the truant officer of Rensselaer, was in our town and vicinity Friday. He carried his sou, Roy, our Supt. of Rublic Instruction, home wi'h him to spend Sunday. Arthur Meckling is building a smithy by the harness shop. Jackson is also building one just north of his residence on Mam street. Surely the horses need not go barefooted this winter. The pupils of the High school gave quite an interesting program Friday afternoon. The debate, in which two girls fought against two boys, was a perfect success. It resulted in favor of the girls. Several of the patrons were present.
