THE CIRCUIT COURT.

The last week of court has not witnessed any great amount of business. The jury were called back Tuesday on the Halligan cattle case, but the Halligan’s asked for a change of venue from the county and the case was sent to White, w here it will come up at the November term. In the case of F. E. Babcock vs. the|eounty commissioners, plaintiff asked for change of venue from court and county, which was granted and the case also sent to White county. Thursday tho Jordan tp.j ditch ease of Hart vs. Kellner et al was on deck with Special Judge Reiter of Hammond on the bench, a change having been taken by defendant from Judge Thompson. The case is still on as we go to press. Other court matters of interest are as follows: Shettz vs. Whitehead etal; injunction granted as to Whitehead, as we understand it. The Newton county case of Patton vs. Hiel resulted in a verdict of $32 for plaintiff. The Eisle vs. Franckoviak damage case from Carpenter tp., was decided in favor of the defendant by the jury last Friday. A large number of witnesses were summoned and the costs, which by the decision fall upon the plaintiff, will reach about sllO.
