Fine autumn weather. Mann Spitler was .down from Thayer Monday, Mrs. Joseph Chadoin, north of town, is critically ill. The prospective football team has been abandoned. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Chester Zea last Tuesday. VvJerry Schofield will move to Wabash county next week. Trustee Shirer of Walker tp., was in the city Wednesdey. J. D. Rich of Brook, was a business caller in the city Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Bringle of Fair Oaks, was in the city Tuesday. Neen Littlefield of Fair Oaks, was in the city Monday on business. John Jordan and J. E. Westfall of Remington, were in town Tuesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Chapman were in Chicago Wednesday and Thursday. Moses Sigo of Carpenter tp., was a business visitor in town Wednesday. |tMisses Ethel Perkins and Lessie Bates are attending normal at Terre Haute. Mr. nnd Mrs. J. S. Morg Shields presented this office with a basket of fine peaches grown upon his farm south of town. *4jfhe Chicago excursion last Sunday was again well patronized, 157 tickets being sold from this station. Mr. James Burke of Wolcott, and Miss Mary Wagner of near Remington, spent Sunday with friends here.

Elijah C. Murphy, aged 78 years, died at the borne of his son, Wm. Murphy, in Gillam tp., on the 13th inst. / E. J. Driver has just completed a nice new bam, 24x28 upon the farm which he recently purchased of Winfred Pence, in Barkley tp. Mrs. E. H. Shields received word last week of the sudden death of Eli Houghnm, an uncle, resid-ing-near Franklin. He was aged 90 years. Mrs. J. H. O’Neil and baby returned to Chicago Bundny, after an extended visit with Mrs. O’Neils’ parents. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Parcels. Rensselaer markets (all top prices): Wheat 65; corn oats 344; rye 45.
