Justice Court Cases.
The case against Joseph Conway, the Parr saloon keeper, for selling liquor to a minor several weeks ago, was tried here Thursday before Esq Burnham and defendant was acquitted. Conway then swore out a warrant for Harry Kelley for provoke, and the case will come up next Friday, Sept. 5. Billy Barley of north of Surrey, who misrepresented his age to secure liquor from Barlow, was arrested by Deputy Constable C. L. Vick and fined 810 and costs On plea of guilty. One-half the fine was remitted during good behavior. The amount paid was $18.40. Deputy Fish and Game Commissioner Roy King of Princeton. ' was here a few days this week and I got out search warrants for searchi ing the premises of eight or ten > citizens of Rensselaer and surI rounding country, only five of which were served. 'One 50-foot seine was found at Sidney Holmes’ on the Dr. Hartsell farm, and he was arrested by Deputy Constable C L. Vick and'brought to town. On plea of guilty he was fined 85 I and costs, the fine being remitted i during good behavior. The costs were $28.25, S2O of which goes into the state fish and game protective fund. Joe Ellis, on one of John Makeever’s farms, near the Hartj sell farm, was found to have a 45foot seine, and he was dittoed, exi cept that the amount was §29.90. In the other cases no seines were found and of course no arrests I followed.
