When the quantity of food taken is too large or the quality too rich, heartburn is likely to follow, and especially so if the digestion has been weakened by constipation. Eat slowly and not too freely of easily digested food. Masticate the food thoroughly. Let six hours elapse between mealsand when you feel a fullness and weight in the region of the stomach after eating, indicating that you have eaten too much, take one of Chamberlain's Stomach and Liver Tablets and the heartburn may be avoided. Last Week of “Lovers’ Lane.”
‘ ‘Lovers’ Lane” has at last reached the last stage in its journey at McVicker’s Theatre, Chicago. The play will end its long and successful run Sunday night, Aug. 4. It is safe to say that no summer production in a decade has enjoyed the popularity and has become so endeared to the public as “Lovers’ Lane.” It is a play that people go to see again and again, each succeeding visit bringing more pleasure than the former. The charm of its pictures of life in a small town; the delightful quaintness of its characters and the sweetness of its love story have done their part in making “Lovers’ Lane” the success of the summer. It might run on for weeks yet did not the manager of McVicker’s Theater require the house for decorators and cleaners in order to freshen it against the opening of the new season, Aug. 18, with Wm. A. Brady’s “Way Down East.” “Lovers’ Lane” has so completely captivated the Chicago public its return to McVicker’s will be looked for with feelings of anticipated pleasure and enjoyment. “Way Down East” will return to the scene of its triumph of last summer with an entirely hew production as to scenery and rurnishings but with the same great cast which made its run at McVicker’s memorable last season when it was the attraction at that house for two months and played to such tremendous business it was necessary to give a matinee every day during the last week of the company’s stay. The inquiry for seats has already begun at the box-office although the engagement does not begin until Sunday, Aug. 18. Among the actors who are best remembered from the wonderful engagement of last season and who will again be seen in their familiar roles are Phoebe Davies, Ella Hugh Wood, Sara Stevens, Jane Millard, Robert Fisher, Felix Haney, Frank Bell and Frank Currier.
