Has No Terrors for Him.

Township Trustee Bellows of Carpenter tp., has no fears of any fool legislature interfering with his fishing sport unless it should undertake to regulate fishing in private ponds. A few years ago an excavation was made on his farm, and a lot of stone taken out for building roads. This filled up with water from springs and he had a fine pond about 50x100 feet and 7 feet deep. Two years ago he purchased 100 black bass from the government and put in the pond. The little fellows were about an inch to an inch and-a-half long. They have grown and multiplied until the pond is fairly alive with them. Several have been caught out this spring weighing from a pound to a pound and a-half, and Mr. Bellows has his fresh fish right at his door andean wink defiance at legislatures, fish wardens, courts and prosecutors.
