Here is an odd paragraph from a Georgia exchange: “While Major Williams was seated in his front room, with both feet in the window, peacefully smoking, some unknown miscreant shot him through the left leg. But Providence, ever watchful of its own, protected him. The bullet passed through his wooden leg, doing no damage whatever.
