Jasper County Democrat, Volume 4, Number 4, Rensselaer, Jasper County, 4 May 1901 — THE COMMERCIAL STATE BANK. [ARTICLE]
THE COMMERCIAL STATE BANK.
Jasper county is fortunate in the sound character of its banking institutions. Perhaps no one business in a community contributes so largely to solid and permament prosperity as correct -and conservative banking methods. In a city where the banks are conducted carefully while at the same time giving to the merchants and the farmer patrons all the co-oper-ation consistent with safety, it will always be found that failures are few and business is conducted on proper lines. Among the banks of Jasper county none rank higher as a financial institution, both on account of its own merits and the individual responsibility of its stockholders, than the Commercial State Bank of Rensselaer. “As solid as a rock” is the term generally applied to this bank and the exhibit of its capital resources and liabilities show this to be true. This bank is examined regularly by the Auditor of State and makes quarterly sworn statements of its condition. It was established in 1895. Its present officers are Addison Parkison, Pres., John M. Wasson, Vice Pres , and
Emmet L. Hollingsworth, Cashier. The directors are Messrs. Parkison, Wasson and Hollingsworth and G. E. Murray and James T. Randle. The Commercial State Bank pays interest on savings and time certificates and makes loans on CITY AND FARM PROPERTY. Patrons having valuable papers may leave them for safe keeping. Rensselaer is fortunate in having so reliable and obliging a banking institution.
