Groceries and Ice Dealer. Mr. C. C. Starr enjoys the distinction of being the pioneer business man of Rensselaer. For over 40 years he has been identified with the business interests of this city and his acquaintance is very extensive. At his place of business on Washington street can be fonnd, as always, a complete and fresh line of stable and fancy groceries. Canned goods of superior quality. Glassware, queensware and crockery are to always be found in stock. In the rear of his store Mr. Starr has a complete outfit for browning and grinding his own coffees and spices. An engine and several pieces of machinery are kept in active operation ana it is a very interesting place. Mr. Starr also deals in ice which he takes from a specially select spot on the Iroquois river, far above the city, where for purity the quality of ice can not be excelled. He also conducts an ice cream parlor and soda Fount which is a popular place of resort for the young people. Mr. Starr is a familiar, respected figure in Rensselaer business life. He is one of our best as well as the oldest merchants and enjoys the full confidence and esteem in both the commercial and social world.
