An ordinance regulating the fire department, defining duties of fireman and officers, and fixing penalties for violation thereof and declaring an emergency, was introduced and passed under suspension of rules, all voting in favor thereof except Councilman Chilcote, who voted against it. The ordinance provides for 15 members, including the chief, fixes the salary at S2O per year, 50 cents for each monthly meeting for those who attend, and for services at each fire.
