The Tutwiler Coal, Coke and Iron Company of Birmingham, Ala., haß purchased from Eugene Zimmerman of Cincinnati the Decatur iron furnace at Decatur, Ala. Speaker Henderson received a telegram announcing the death of Dr. Richard A.. Wise, the member of the House from the Norfolk, Va., district, at his home at Williamsburg. The Coffee County Bank, at Manchester, Tenn., was broken into by five men, the safe blown open and all the currency in the bank, amounting to $5,000, stolen. A sheriff’s posse captured one robber and recovered the money. By the explosion of a large boiler at Biankenbeckler’s sawmill, Sneedville, Tenn., William Edwards, engineer, and Pleasant Trent, fireman, were instantly killed. Jesse Malian and Lee Gordon were fatally injured. Suit was filed at Louisville, Ky<, the other day for the dissolution of the charter of Brennan & Co. (Southwestern agricultural works), the appointment of a receiver for the sale of the property and a division of the assets among the stockholders. The storm which swept the Virginia coast, during which the gale reached a recorded velocity of forty-four miles an hour, proved very destructive. The schooner Jennie Hall and the oyster sloop Eagle were sunk and a gunboat and other vessels blown ashtfre or partially wrecked.
