Cold, colder, coldest. Mr. Mac Rockwell, who has been quite sick, is better at this writing. Rev. Calton of Judson, preached a fine sermon at D. V. Sundav evening. Our livery barn has changed proprietors. Roach & Schock have been succeeded bv N'iece & Niece. Give them a call. Mr. Frank Fisher our outgoing assessor has also made a record that he can he proud of. His party can look hack at his record with pride. W. S. DeArmond has purchased the house and lot previously owned by Marion Sands. Wilson Reddin has rented the same until spring. Mrs. Addie Lyons, who has been visiting her narents, Mr. and Mrs. Sands, has departed for New YoiJ<. She intends to make that her future home. Rev. Thorpe of Judson, preached a fine sermon at D. V. Sunday evening. His subject was Heaven. It was the ablest discourse lhat we ever heard on the subject. Although nationally defeated, we are not vanquished. A defeat does not destroy. VVe, as true American citizens, will abide by the decision of the American people. Mr. Dari Chamberlain and Miss Sadie Leon, our D. V’..daughter, were united in matrimony at Streator, 111. We wish them a long and happy life, full of agreeable surprises. Miss Mattie Witt was the rabbit-eating guest of Mrs. Nancy Booth last Sunday. They carry the feet of the unhappy rabbits in their pockets as a gentle reminder of a good time. The teachers of Wheatfield and Kankakee townships held a joint institute at D. V. last Saturday. We believe that the institute was composed of the smartest and best looking teachers in the County. Such was the universal verdict at least. Mr. John Kaupke, our outgoing trustee, has made a record that no other man can beat. Democrats and republicans vie with each other in applauding his economical and business like administration. Mr. Tom Malonev succeeds Mr. Kaupke. When you feel that life is hardly worth the candle take a dose of Chamberlain’! Stomach and Liver Tablets.
