The Circuit Court.
Yesterday was the last day of the September term court, and a number of cases were disposed of. This term has been the busiest ever held in Jasper county, and a number of cases were continned over to the November term. Following is a brief synopsis of the disposal of the more important matters. Jury discharged last Saturday for the term. Eugene Comstock vs. Nate J. Reed as sheriff, action in replevin; jury trial, verdict for plaintiff. The Walker tp., oil injunction case was continued to November term.
B. J. Gifford vs. W. C. Babcock, landlord's lein; continued by request. Nelson Morris vs. Board/ of Commissioners of Jasper county, ! action for injunction to enjoin further collection of taxes on Keener tp., gravel read; no one appeared and case goes over to Nov. term. Wm. N. Hurley vs. Rachel L. Hurley, divorce; granted on payment of costs. •S. P. Thompson et al vs S. R. Nichols et al, action on note; judgement for 8567.25 rendered. The Putts will case will not be appealed, we understand. By this decision George Pntts will receive 8800; Mrs. Moose miller SSO and each of her six children $100; Mrs. Riddle $300; the pastor of St. Augustine's Catholic church SIOO, and the residue of the estate goes to Joseph Putts, who has 12 years to pay off the above legacies at 6 per cent, interest. The costs were divided as follows: against Geo. Putts; f, against Mrs. Moosmiller and Mrs. Riddle, and J ! against the estate. The landlord’s lein case of ■ Crisman vs. Curtis, Taber «fc Co., !et al, from Remington, was comj promised by defendants paying plaintiff $224.
