Hurrah forT. M. Callahan. Rev. Thorpe preached at D. V. last Sunday. Mrs. Vandercarr visited at Stoutsberg last Sunday. . Mr. Behler is painting his house, Miss Annie is boss. Grandpa Miles is erecting a dwelling bouse in 1). V. Misses M. Henry and Lessie Bates were D. V. callers last Sunday. Miss Blanche Hill and Mr. D. V. suppered with Mr. and Mrs. Brown last Sunday. Mrs. White has purchased a fine carriage. She intends to take life easy, and 1 guess she will. A few of the D. V. folks attended the Baptist Association at Morocco last wetk. A good time is reported. Mr. I. Curtain, who is working on the Burk ranch, says that the D. V. girls are jewels in disguise. He has 3 high regard for one of the D. V. belles. Guess who? Messrs. Joe Hilliard and Lee Fisher who have been attending the normal and institute at Rensselaer have returned to their respective homes. They are actually running over with wisdom. Miss Sadie Leon, being anxious to p'ease and satisfy the graduated appe<ite of her boy Dan, sent to a neighbor
for a jug full of good home made bnttertnilk to create formula or make a Johnny cake. As the buttermilk didn't come Dan was nonplussed. Miss Edna Geary, who has been the guest ot Mrs. Sleight, at the Dunn's bridge club house, has returned toCbicago. She is an expert shot, her record being four out of twenty. She had the honor of killing two thunder-pumpers, three jay-birds and sixteen hard-shelled turtles. Born, to Mr. and Mrs. Warren White, a fine giil. Now, Warren was exceedingly happy. He chmbed a tree amt read six chapters in the almanac and sang in a well modulated tone the national songs of America. He preached a sermon to an imaginary audience and he got so enthused that be walloped the ground with the old brindle rooster because he crowed during the discourse. Prof. R. A.
