Mrs. Charles Dan ford issuing to Rensselaer to-duv on business Frank Archer has quit the 3-1 HR. and is working for Mr. Hannaway. Rev. Skinner and family are visiting with Mn. Skinner's slater in Chicago, this week. DrMotte is full of hay-makers to-day. The heavy rain last night and to-day gave them all a lay-off.. Mr. W. Hanna of Illinois, delivered a temperance lecture in the M, k. church last Saturday evening. Mrs. L. Story and fumi'.y have gone to Wabash to see Mr, Story’s father, w ho is lying near death's door. Samuel Yeoman of Rensselaer, is repairing his scales in DeMotte and txpects to buy and grip grain from this vicinity.

Another fire in this vicinity. This time it is W. H. Tyler's barn and contents namely: 8 tons of timothy hay, 250 bushels corn, ons s.t harness, one barrel of lamps, three stoves, and farming tools too numerous to mention. Loss SSOO, insurance S4OO. Cause of fire unknown. . ■*j Mrs. Rosenbaum and daughter of Chicago, the wife and daughter of the late Simon Rosenbaum, the pack-peddler, who died very suddenly a short time ago 4 miles south of DeMotte and whose death was said to be due from heart failure, is the guest of Charles Propp and family.
